Essen, 3 July 2017. Uptown, designed by Francesco Rota for Paola Lenti in 2016, has won the Red Dot Award Best of the Best 2017. An international jury of experts has selected Uptown for its excellent quality and its strong formal innovating character. The official award ceremony took place at the Alvar Aalto Theater in Essen. Francesco Rota, in designing the rounded soft shapes of Uptown, got inspiration from the stones smoothed by time passing by. These monolithic elements, pleasant to the sight at 360 degrees, can be used alone or in compositions settled simply combining seating elements, chaise longue and ottoman as desired.
